About Stevie Puckett

I grew up in Green Country in Oklahoma. As a kid, besides leading the way on daily chores with mom, I enjoyed making mud pies, wading in the creek, tumbling in the grass, climbing trees, playing soccer, whacking a tennis ball, and checking the trotline with dad.

During high school and into college, I was a lifeguard and swim instructor. I completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Oklahoma State University. After deciding the bureaucracy of a career in medicine didn’t suit me well, I switched my graduate studies to counseling and earned a Master’s in Counseling from Seton Hall University. Next, I completed a post graduate certificate in career counseling from the University of California at San Diego.

While an undergrad, I married my high school sweetheart. Soon, we left Oklahoma and set off for his military career. We’ve had the privilege of living in many places across the U.S., including California (twice), Wyoming, Texas, New Jersey, Georgia, Nevada (twice), and Virginia. We returned to our home town in late 2023 so that my homeschooled daughter could go to high school where me and her dad graduated. It’s good to be home!

For fun, I love to get outside with a purpose. I enjoy RVing, mountain biking with my son, and playing tennis with my daughter. I also enjoy Minecraft. The kids introduced me to it. I like to play a version where I don’t stay two nights in the same spot. I sleep in a mushroom tent and spend the day looking for treasure…which sounds remarkably like my regular plan in real life.

Because we moved many times as a military family, I came to understand that if I had my own company, it would move with me. So, in 2009 I launched SparksPress, LLC and began my entrepreneurial adventure.

What I do in my business looks different from time to time as I take on projects including career development training, one-on-one career consulting, audiobook narration, and various other projects.

Currently, I am trying my hand at a brick and mortar business back in my home town.

In appreciation…
