  • An Inverted Jedi Mind Trick

    Pay attention to what you’re focusing on. This one thing can do wonders to increase your satisfaction in life almost immediately.

    First, understand that what you focus on affects how you feel.

    If what you’re thinking about makes you feel bad, it affects your energy level in a bad way. It lowers your vibe. If you’re thinking about something that makes you feel bad, you will quickly start to feel stressed or tired or just generally have a bad attitude.

    On the other hand, if what you’re thinking about makes you feel good, it affects your energy level in a good way. It raises your vibe! It doesn’t matter if what you’re thinking about it is true or not. What matters is if it helps you feel good.

    So, for example, use this to enhance your career. If thinking about the weekend makes you feel good, then spend a few seconds periodically daydreaming about your free time. But if thinking about the weekend makes you feel bad because you want it to be the weekend now, or it makes you yearn for the weekend, then avoid thoughts about the weekend. Choose to focus on something that makes you feel good instead.

    Here’s another example. On an old episode of Dancing with the Stars, Olympian Evan Lysacek was being coached by his dancing pro Anna Trebunskaya. Evan was a top-notch technician but was not good at showing emotion in his dancing. Anna asked him, “What makes you happy?” Evan mumbled something about cars then said as his face lit up, “my baby nephew!”

    He then proceeded to show his coach cute little videos of his nephew on his phone. He was smiling and laughing the whole time. Anna capitalized on that reaction and brought it to his attention. Long story short, he danced like a whole new man in that week’s competition. Even more importantly, he now knows a trick (shall we say, a Jedi mind trick?) for something to focus on when he notices he is not feeling as good as he could.

    You can do the same to enhance your life. Gather some “go to” thoughts you can use to switch your thinking when you notice you’re dragging. Keep a list of thoughts you can try to change your focus when necessary. Maybe it’s a favorite memory, a song you love, or silently reciting a list of who loves you. There is always something you can focus on for a few seconds to raise yourself to a more positive vibe. Find it and focus there to notice a new perspective on life nearly immediately.

  • Have Everything You Want

    Can you have everything you want? It depends on a few things.

    • Can you appreciate what you already have and identify what you want while enjoying your life as it is?
    • Can you listen, recognize, and trust inspiration that encourages you to take action steps that move you in the direction of your dreams?
    • Can you be authentic, sincere, and nonjudgmental towards others while feeling untroubled most of the time?

    Maintain a calm mind, practice a positive mindset, and engage your intuition. You will reach your full potential and create a beautiful life story masterfully.

  • What is Intuition Anyway

    There are many different definitions of intuition and some will feel better to you than others. Use whatever feels good to you. Here are some ideas to consider.

    • Some like to think of intuition as a gut instinct.
    • Some say it is a sixth sense.
    • Some say it is communication from your spirit guides.
    • Some take a more scientific approach and say that using your intuition means you are using more of your brain.
    • I like to think of intuition as a bridge between physical self and spiritual self.

    In general though, the most basic definition of intuition is that it’s a “sudden knowing.” The word knowing is really, really important because most commonly people know the truth of their intuitions when they occur but then they analyze for weakness and eventually talk themselves out of their intuition!

    Understanding that basic definition of intuition as a “sudden knowing” and keeping it in mind as you work to improve your intuition will raise your confidence level. It will help you move forward. That one idea will help you further develop and further understand and further trust your own intuition.

  • Personal Power Tips

    There are many ways to define personal power. Here are some to consider.

    • Personal power is being in control of your life.
    • Personal power is the ability to achieve what you want.
    • Personal power equals the control of resources.
    • Powerful people are focused on their goals.
    • Powerful people take impactful action.
    • Personal power is the ability to influence others.
    • Personal power is freedom.

    ON A SCALE FROM WEAKEST TO STRONGEST

    Now, of course, power can be used positively or negatively. It has been said that being forceful is the weakest power of all. Brute strength often only yields negativity and resentment; and only short term gain. A much stronger use of power is to use charm and positive influence to help others build their power. This is a much longer-lasting strategy with easily seen benefits including increasing the power of the initial charmer.

    TUNE IN

    Be an observer of yourself throughout your days. Take periodic attitude checks. Begin to recognize when you feel apathy, negativity, or just generally stuck. Use those feelings as a signal to alert you that you have lost touch with your personal power. Once you are able to recognize what it feels like when your power is depleted, then you can start to experiment and find what works to make you feel powerful again. At that point, you will be cued into a key cycle that you can use to manage yourself to success.

    FOR A POWER BOOST

    • Think about a time when you had power and let your body and your mind feel it.
    • Practice non-reaction. Don’t let others goad you. Instead pause. Respond calmly when thoughtful and ready.
    • Use positive self-talk.
    • Assume goodwill.
    • Take action.
  • Desired Things

    I love this poem. May it inspire you too.

    DESIDERATA by Max Ehrmann

    Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

    As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.

    Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,

    even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

    Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are a vexation to the spirit.

    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;

    for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

    Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

    Keep interested in your own career, however humble;

    it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

    Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.

    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;

    many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

    Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.

    Neither be cynical about love;

    for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

    Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

    But do not distress yourself with imaginings.

    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

    Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

    You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

    And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be,

    and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

    With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

    Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
